Unfortunately, the first born, a male, did not survive. He was stuck in the birth canal for too long, as Dolly had trouble pushing him out- he was the biggest out of all the puppies.
Only four are alive today- three males (Kevin, Joe, and Nick) and one female (Hannah). Guess who I named them after?
All puppies are healthy and had their dewclaws removed yesterday. I am also working with them on the "Super Dog Program" exercises that many reputable breeders do with their litters.
I will try to get their pics on here weekly, so that everyone can see how they grow up.
On another note, please check out my ongoing comic strip saga on my school's website. The link below is to the first comic strip and you will also find links to continue onward.

AKC is a bit political, no? I am planning to go into Dobermans but AKC is judged so much on who you are and not the actual dog...
But that's just my opinion!
How long have you been showing?
Isn't Carmel down south? I'm in the northern part of CA obviously. And yes, I do think there are times when AKC does get a bit political but there are also times when it is not. I guess it really depends on the show's location, who the judge is, or what breed you have.
Beagles have been pretty easy because politics doesn't seem to be a problem for me yet. I do know for a fact that it is almost impossible to win in the Boxer ring without a professional handler (or so what I've heard). I've thought about also doing UKC shows but I learned that judges in UKC will sometimes ask some of the most random questions and expect handlers to answer them correctly. I've been showing in Junior Showmanship since 2006, but I've only been showing in the actual breed ring since April of this year.

Dobermans are like that too. Amateur handlers aren't looked at the same as pros. I am looking for something fun as a part time sort of thing! UKC doesn't allow professional handlers though, so for someone working for fun, it's easier.
How did you get into showing?
I am in South Bay, around San Jose.
